There are basically two types of storage that can be used in a room: built-in custom wardrobes (also known as a fitted wardrobe) and freestanding storage units that can be purchased in various furniture stores.
Fitted wardrobes, on the other hand, may take much longer to install than a freestanding unit; however, there are numerous advantages to using built-in storage, and these include:
Better use of space – Unlike freestanding storage, a fitted wardrobe is made to fit the space available in the room. If you place the wardrobe in an alcove, on the other hand, there will also be some leftover space at the sides – space that could have been used to store more of your clothes.
Customization options – Unlike freestanding wardrobes that come in a specific size and design, built-in storage can be customized according to your preferences. This means that you can design your wardrobe to follow a room’s theme. Would you rather have wood panels for the wardrobe doors or a large mirror to help you dress up? In addition to fitting in with the room’s design, bespoke wardrobes can also be customized to fit unusual spaces. This means that rooms with uneven walls or sloping ceilings can still be fitted with a beautiful storage unit.
Ease of maintenance – As mentioned previously, freestanding wardrobes tend to leave space unused at the top, which can easily gather dust. If this area is sufficiently narrow, cleaning the top of the wardrobe can become a pain. On the other hand, cleaning is not an issue with built-in wardrobes; since this kind of storage fits perfectly into the available space, there are no open spaces where dirt and dust can accumulate.
More organized storage – Freestanding wardrobes usually just come with a limited number of shelves and rails – and these are usually not organized to match your storage needs.
Invest more time and effort in looking for the ideal wardrobe. Look for those that offer more than just storage but can actually beautify and complement your room theme and design.
